Braan Sauna

A wood-fired and cold plunge experience on the banks of the River Tay, Dunkeld.

Braan Sauna is a new wild wellness experience created by my partner Fraser Potter and I (Kim Grant). Our vision is to keep people calm and connected to nature, friends, family and the local community by offering accessible sauna sessions and cold water therapy in a beautiful setting.

Currently located next to the river at The Taybank, the sauna was designed and handbuilt at home by Fraser, his trusted joiner Tommy, Kim and Fraser’s brother Blair. The sauna is lined with cedar inside, burnt larch outside and features a powerful HUUM Sauna wood stove. The space fits up to eight people and has large windows overlooking the River Tay, Thomas Telford’s Dunkeld Bridge and the wooded Birnam Hill.

Braan Sauna offers locals and visitors a unique experience that’s great for the mind, body and soul. We believe being warmed to the core and the thrill of cold water immersion provides several mental and physiological benefits. By gathering in a relaxing space with views of the rushing river, big trees and a misty Birnam Hill, we’re also offered a connection with others and our natural surroundings during the darkest days of winter.

Braan Sauna sessions include use of the sauna itself, a changing box, cold water plunge tank, fire pit and seating area on the riverside. Sessions last 1 hour 20 minutes and the space can be booked for private groups or local residents book individually to attend one of our two weekly community sauna club sessions at a discounted rate.
