Rural Studio offers strategic and creative direction rooted in culture, story, and place. Working closely with founders, brands, and creative teams, the studio helps define clear creative vision through brand and visual strategy, concept development, and narrative positioning—shaping work that feels coherent, considered, and long lasting.
Brand, Content & Digital
We work across brand, content, and digital to create cohesive, expressive identities and experiences. From branding and identity design to web design, content creation, and art direction, the studio develops thoughtful marketing strategies and campaigns that bring brands to life across platforms, balancing clarity, creativity, and cultural relevance.
Spaces & Objects
We design spaces and objects with a strong sense of place and materiality. Working across interior design and spatial concepting, the studio sources vintage and antiques, commissions bespoke elements, and oversees styling and installation, creating environments that feel layered, lived-in, and deeply connected to their context.
Experiential & Events
We design and deliver place-led experiences, pop-ups, and branded events that bring stories to life. From intimate gatherings to larger-scale activations, our work is rooted in landscape, culture, and craft, creating immersive moments that connect people, place, and brand in lasting ways.

Kim
Rural Studio is led by Kim Grant, a Scottish creative director with a deep connection to storytelling, nature, and creative culture. With 15 years of experience across travel, lifestyle, and hospitality, her work is shaped by Scotland’s landscapes, heritage, craft, and design.
Before founding Rural Studio, Kim studied Visual Communication at the Glasgow School of Art, co-authored the bestselling Wild Guide Scotland and spent 5 years as Editorial Creative Director at Culture Trip, leading campaigns and art-directing content across photography, film, and illustration. Alongside her studio practice, she contributes to her partner’s business The Taybank, and—together with Eric Bremner—is developing the brand, creative direction, and interior design for The Birnam Hotel.
